حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، أَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، نَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ; أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

إِذَا سِرْتُمْ فِي أَرْضٍ خَصْبَةٍ فَأَعْطُوا الدَّوَابَّ حَقَّهَا، أَوْ حَظَّهَا، وَإِذَا سِرْتُمْ فِي أَرْضٍ جَدْبَةٍ فَانْجُوا عَلَيْهِمْ، وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالدُّلْجَةِ ; فَإِنَّ الْأَرْضَ تُطْوَى بِاللَّيْلِ، وَإِذَا عَرَّسْتُمْ فَلَا تُعَرِّسُوا عَلَى قَارِعَةِ الطَّرِيقِ ; فَإِنَّهَا مَأْوَى كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ.

Translation

✧ When you travel through fertile land, give the animals their due, or their share. When you travel through barren land, hurry on them. And keep to night travel, for the earth is folded up at night. And when you camp, do not camp on the middle of the road, for it is the abode of every beast.
