✧ The last look I had of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was when he fell ill and ordered Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ lifted the curtain of ʿĀʾishah's room while the people were looking, and I saw his face as if it were a page of a muṣḥaf, until Abu Bakr stepped back on his heels, thinking that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wanted to lead the people in prayer. He signaled to them to complete their prayer, and he let down the curtain between them and him. He passed away that same day ﷺ.
