حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، نَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، نَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَبِي نُعْمٍ يُحَدِّثُ قَالَ:

شَهِدْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنِ الْمُحْرِمِ يَقْتُلُ الذُّبَابَ، فَقَالَ: يَا أَهْلَ الْعِرَاقِ، تَسْأَلُونِي عَنْ قَتْلِ الذُّبَابِ وَقَدْ قَتَلْتُمُ ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ ! وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: هُمَا رَيْحَانَتِي مِنَ الدُّنْيَا

✧ I witnessed Ibn ʿUmar when a man asked him about a pilgrim killing a fly. He said: “O people of Iraq, you ask me about killing a fly while you have killed the son of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘They are my two fragrant flowers in this world.’”
