حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَا: نَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، نَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ صَدَقَةَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ:

كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ بَيْتٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يَعْتَكِفُ فِيهِ فِي آخِرِ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ، وَكَانَ يُصَلِّي فِيهِ، فَأَخْرَجَ رَأْسَهُ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ الْمُصَلِّيَ يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ فَلْيَنْظُرْ أَحَدُكُمْ بِمَا يُنَاجِيهِ، وَلَا يَجْهَرْ بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ had a room in the mosque where he would perform i‘tikaf during the last part of Ramadan, and he would pray in it. He put his head out from it and said: The one praying is confiding in his Lord, so let each of you consider what he confides, and let not some of you raise their voices over others.
