✧ Umar b. al-Khattab went out to the mosque and found a striped silk garment, so he returned and said: O Messenger of Allah, will you not buy this garment and wear it when delegations come to you and on Friday? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Those are the clothes of one who has no share in the Hereafter. He stayed as long as Allah willed, then he sent Umar a brocade garment that had been gifted to him. Umar came and said: O Messenger of Allah, you sent me this while I heard you say what you said about it. He said: I did not send it to you to wear, but I sent it to you so that you may sell it and use it for some of your needs, or clothe some of your women.
