✧ The sun eclipsed for the death of a great one among the great ones, so the Prophet ﷺ went out and prayed with the people. He prolonged the standing until it was said: He will not bow due to the length of the standing. Then he bowed until it was said: He will not raise due to the length of the bowing. Then he raised and prolonged the standing similar to his first standing. Then he bowed and prolonged the bowing similar to his first bowing. Then he raised his head and prostrated. Then he did in the other rak'ah the like of that, so it was four bowings and four prostrations. Then he turned to the people and said: 'O people, the sun and the moon do not eclipse for the death of anyone nor for his life, but they are two signs among the signs of Allah. So when you see them, hasten to prayer.'
