وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ، نَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، نَا ابْنُ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ

كَانَ يَدْعُو عَلَى أَرْبَعَةٍ، فَنَزَلَتْ لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ الأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ

Translation

✧ He was supplicating against four people, then the verse was revealed: “It is not for you [O Prophet] to decide anything; either He turns to them in mercy or punishes them, for indeed they are wrongdoers.”
