وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، نَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ:
أَنَّهُ اسْتُصْرِخَ عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ فَسَارَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مَسِيرَةَ ثَلَاثِ لَيَالٍ، سَارَ حَتَّى أَمْسَى، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: الصَّلَاةَ، فَلَمْ يَلْتَفِتْ وَسَارَ حَتَّى أَظْلَمَ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: الصَّلَاةَ، أَمْسَيْتَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا عَجِلَ بِهِ السَّيْرُ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ هَاتَيْنِ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَجْمَعَ بَيْنَهُمَا، فَسَارَ حَتَّى غَابَ الشَّفَقُ، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ فَجَمَعَ بَيْنَهُمَا
Translation

✧ That he was summoned urgently for Safiyyah, so he traveled in one night the distance of three nights. He traveled until evening came. I said to him, "The prayer." But he did not turn and traveled until it became dark. Then a man said, "The prayer, the evening has come." He said, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he was in a hurry while traveling, would combine these two prayers. I intend to combine them." So he traveled until the twilight disappeared, then he dismounted and combined them.
