وَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ، نَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ
كَانَ لَهُ خَاتَمٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَكَانَ يَجْعَلُ فَصَّهُ مِمَّا يَلِي بَاطِنَ كَفِّهِ، فَطَرَحَهُ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ، فَاتَّخَذَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، فَكَانَ يَخْتِمُ بِهِ وَلَا يَلْبَسُهُ
Translation

✧ He had a gold ring, and he used to place its stone facing the inside of his palm. One day he threw it away, so the people threw away their rings. After that, he adopted a silver ring, which he used for sealing but did not wear.
