وَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَبِشْرُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَا: نَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى إِحْدَى صَلَاتَيِ الْعَشِيِّ فَسَهَا فَسَلَّمَ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ: أَقَصُرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ أَمْ نَسِيتَ ؟ فَقَالَ: كُلُّ ذَلِكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ، حَتَّى اسْتَثْبَتَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى مَا بَقِيَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ..

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed one of the two afternoon prayers and he forgot and said the salam after two rak'ahs. A man called Dhu al-Yadayn said to him, "Has the prayer been shortened or did you forget?" He said, "None of that happened," until he was sure. Then he prayed what remained of his prayer and prostrated twice.
