✧ Ibn 'Abd Allah b. Ubayy came to the Messenger of God ﷺ when his father died and said: Give us your shirt. So he gave him his shirt, and said: When you are done, inform me. When he wanted to pray over him, 'Umar pulled him and said: Has not God forbidden you from the hypocrites? He said: I am between two choices. He said: Seek forgiveness for them or do not seek forgiveness for them. So he prayed over him. Then God revealed: And do not pray over any of them who dies ever, and do not stand at his grave. So he abandoned praying over them.
