✧ Knowledge is about to be lifted up. He repeated it three times. Ziyad b. Labid said: "O Prophet of God, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you, how will knowledge be lifted from us while this is the Book of God, which we have read, and we teach it to our children, and our children will teach it to their children?" The Messenger of God ﷺ turned to him and said: "May your mother be bereaved of you, O Ziyad b. Labid! I had considered you one of the jurists of the people of Madinah. Do not these Jews have the Torah and the Gospel? What did that avail them? God does not remove knowledge by lifting it up, but He removes it by taking away its bearers—I think he said—and no scholar of this nation passes away except that he leaves a breach in Islam that will not be filled until the Day of Resurrection."
