✧ I heard the Prophet ﷺ say when he finished his prayer: O Allah, I ask You for mercy from You by which You guide my heart, unite my affairs, gather my scattered state, set right my absent ones, raise my witness, purify my deeds, restore my affection, and make me free of need from anyone other than You. O Allah, grant me faith after which there is no disbelief, and mercy by which I attain the honor of Your generosity in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for the hospitality of the martyrs, the life of the fortunate, and victory over enemies. O Allah, I have brought my need to You, even if my judgment is short, my deeds are weak, and I am in need of Your mercy. O Allah, O Judge of affairs, O Healer of what is in the breasts, protect me from the punishment of the Blaze, from the call of destruction, and from the trial of the graves. O Allah, whatever good my judgment falls short of and my request does not reach—I think he said: which You have given to any of Your creation, or good which You will give to any of Your servants—I desire it from You and ask You for it by Your mercy, O Lord of the worlds. O Allah, I ask You, O Possessor of the strong rope, O Possessor of the right command, O Allah, I ask You for security on the Day of Warning, and Paradise on the Day of Eternity, with the near ones, the witnesses, the bowing, the prostrating, the fulfillers of covenants. Indeed You are Merciful, Loving, and You are Witness over all things, You do what You will. O Allah, make us guides, guided, not astray and not leading astray, at peace with Your allies, enemies to Your enemies, loving people by Your love, and hostile by Your hostility to whoever opposes You. O Allah, this is the supplication, and upon You is the response, and this is the effort, and upon You is reliance. Make for me light in my grave, light in my heart, light before me, light behind me, light on my right, light on my left, light before me, light behind me, light above me, light below me, light in my hearing, light in my sight, light in my hair, light in my skin, light in my flesh, and light in my bones—I think he said: and make for me a great light with You. Glory be to the One who wore might and said by it, glory be to Allah who wore majesty and generosity, glory be to the One for whom glorification is not befitting except for Him, glory be to the Possessor of bounty and blessings, glory be to the Possessor of majesty and honor, glory be to the Possessor of glory and generosity.
