حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ شَاهِينَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - ؓ

فِي قَوْلِ اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى: وَلا تُكْرِهُوا فَتَيَاتِكُمْ عَلَى الْبِغَاءِ، قَالَ: نَزَلَتْ فِي عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُبَيٍّ، كَانَتْ عِنْدَهُ جَارِيَةٌ فَكَانَ يُكْرِهُهَا عَلَى الزِّنَا، فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى: فَإِنَّ اللهَ مِنْ بَعْدِ إِكْرَاهِهِنَّ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ

✧ Regarding the words of Allah, Blessed and Exalted: “And do not compel your slave girls to prostitution,” he said: It was revealed concerning ‘Abd Allāh b. Ubayy, who had a slave girl and would compel her to commit adultery. So Allah, Blessed and Exalted, revealed: “Then indeed Allah, after their compulsion, is Forgiving, Merciful.”
