✧ Abd al-Rahman b. Udays al-Balawi, one of those who pledged allegiance under the tree, came and ascended the pulpit. He praised and extolled God and mentioned Uthman. Abu Thawr said: I entered upon Uthman and he said: "The Messenger of God ﷺ married me to his daughter, then to another daughter. Then I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God ﷺ with this—meaning his right hand—and I have never touched my private part with it, nor have I disappeared (to relieve myself) with it, nor wished with it, nor drunk wine in the time of ignorance or in Islam. And the Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Who will buy this plot and add it to the mosque, and he will have a house in Paradise?' So I bought it and added it to the mosque."
