حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَا: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: نَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ؓ قَالَ:

صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى أَبِي الدَّحْدَاحِ، ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِفَرَسٍ عَرَبِيٍّ، فَرَكِبَهُ، فَجَعَلَ يَتَوَقَّصُ بِهِ، فَقَالَ كَلِمَةً خَفِيَّةً، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ وَنَحْنُ نَمْشِي خَلْفَهُ: إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ: كَمْ مِنْ عِذْقٍ مُدَلًّى لِأَبِي الدَّحْدَاحِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ prayed over Abu al-Dahdah, then a horse was brought to him, and he mounted it. It began to prance with him, and he said a quiet word. A man among the people, while we were walking behind him, said: 'The Prophet ﷺ said: "How many hanging clusters of dates are there for Abu al-Dahdah in Paradise!"'
