machine translationIn its chain of transmission is Layth b. Abī Sulaym, and al-Bazzār mentioned that he was alone in transmitting it.

  • Bazzār

machine translationThis hadith, with the phrase "and the rāʾish" (the one who brokers between the two): we do not know it to be narrated from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ through any route except this route, which is why we wrote it down. We have also made clear that this hadith is only from Layth b. Abī Sulaym, from Abū Zurʿah, from Abū Idrīs. Dhawād b. ʿUlbah, from Layth, inserted a man between Abū Zurʿah and him, and mentioned it from Abū al-Khaṭṭāb. Abū al-Khaṭṭāb is not well known, except that Layth narrated more than one hadith from him. His hadith is only written down when what he narrates is not preserved except through him.
