machine translationIbn ʿUyaynah narrates it from al-Aʿmash, from Mujāhid, from Ibn Abī Laylā, from Abū Dharr. Ibn Abī Najīḥ differed with him and narrated it from Mujāhid, from Abū Dharr as a mursal report (mursal). The hadith of al-Aʿmash is more sound (aṣaḥḥ).

machine translationIn it is Muḥammad b. Abī Laylā, and there is weakness (ḍaʿf) in his hadith.
in مسند البزار, p. 4027 - Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī
machine translationMuḥammad b. Rabīʿah and Wakīʿ narrated this hadith from Ibn Abī Laylā, from Hilāl, from Ḥudhayfah: "I asked the Prophet ﷺ." So which of the two is more sound (aṣaḥḥ)? He said: Ibn Abī Laylā has much like this in his hadith; this is from Ibn Abī Laylā, at one time he says such, and at another time he says such. Yazīd b. ʿAṭāʾ followed al-Thawrī in his narration from Ibn Abī Laylā, from his brother, from his father, from Abū Dharr, and it is the more likely (ashbah).
