✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ one day urged people to give charity. ʿUlbah b. Zayd stood up and said, “I have nothing but my honor. I call upon you, O Messenger of Allah, to witness that I have given my honor as charity to anyone who has wronged me.” Then he sat down. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said—twice or three times—“Where is ʿUlbah b. Zayd?” ʿUlbah stood up, and he said, “You are the one who gave his honor as charity. Allah has accepted it from you.”
