أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى ؓ قَالَ:
" صَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ، فَكَبَّرَ عَلَيْهَا أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ مَكَثَ هُنَيَّةً، حَتَّى نَوَيْنَا أَنَّهُ سَيُكَبِّرُ الْخَامِسَةَ، فَقَالَ: هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَعَلَ " ثُمَّ سَمِعَ بَوَاكِيَ فَقَالَ: " إِنَّا نُهِينَا عَنِ التَّرَثِّي " وَقَالَ لِغُلَامِهِ: " أَيْنَ أَنَا ؟ قَالَ: أَمَامَ الْجِنَازَةِ، قَالَ: " اجْعَلْنِي خَلْفَ الْجِنَازَةِ
Translation

✧ I prayed with him over a funeral, and he said the takbir over it four times, then he paused for a little while, until we thought he would say a fifth takbir. Then he said, 'Thus I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do.' Then he heard women wailing, so he said, 'We have been forbidden from lamentation,' and he said to his servant, 'Where am I?' He replied, 'In front of the funeral.' He said, 'Put me behind the funeral.'
