أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو مَالِكٍ النَّخَعِيُّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى ؓ قَالَ:

لَمَّا تُوُفِّيَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ جَعَلَ يَقُولُ: " احْمِلُوهَا وَارْغَبُوا فِي حَمْلِهَا، فَإِنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَحْمِلُ وَمَوَالِيهَا بِاللَّيْلِ حِجَارَةَ الْمَسْجِدِ الَّذِي أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَى، وَكُنَّا نَحْمِلُ بِالنَّهَارِ حَجَرَيْنِ حَجَرَيْنِ

Translation

✧ When his wife died, he began to say: "Carry her and be eager to carry her, for she and her masters used to carry by night the stones of the mosque that was founded on piety, and we used to carry by day two stones at a time."
