✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on one of the days when he met [the enemy]. He stood among the people and delivered a sermon, saying: "Do not wish to meet the enemy, and ask Allah for well-being. But if you meet them, be patient, and know that Paradise is under the shade of the swords." Then he supplicated, saying: "O Allah, Sender down of the Book, Vanquisher of the confederates, defeat them and grant us victory over them."

  • Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī

machine translationAl-Dāraquṭnī said: Abū al-Naḍr did not hear from Ibn Abī Awfā; rather he narrated it from his written document (kitāb), and so it is valid evidence (ḥujjah) as a narration by written correspondence (mukātabah). I (Ibn Ḥajar) say: so there is no defect in it.
