✧ The first hadith of Abu Musa

أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ بُرَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ؓ قَالَ:

احْتَرَقَ بَيْتٌ بِالْمَدِينَةِ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ، فَلَمَّا حُدِّثَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِشَأْنِهِمْ، أَتَاهُمْ فَقَالَ: " إِنَّ هَذِهِ النَّارَ عَدُوٌّ لَكُمْ، فَإِذَا نِمْتُمْ فَأَطْفِئُوهَا أَوْ قَالَ: " هَذِهِ النَّارُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ، فَإِذَا نِمْتُمْ فَأَطْفِئُوهَا

Translation

✧ A house in Madinah caught fire at night upon its inhabitants. When the Prophet ﷺ was told of their situation, he came to them and said: "This fire is an enemy to you, so when you sleep, extinguish it." Or he said: "This fire is your enemy, so when you sleep, extinguish it."
