✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ stood among us with four [statements] and said: 'Indeed God, Blessed and Exalted, does not sleep, and it is not befitting for Him to sleep. He lowers the scale'—Abū Bakr said: I think he said—'and raises it. The deed of the night is raised to Him by day, and the deed of the day by night. His veil is light; if He were to remove it, the splendors of His face would burn every creature that His sight reaches.'

machine translationYaḥyā b. Salamah b. Kuhayl narrated it from his father, that a narrator had narrated to him, from ʿAmr b. Murrah, from Murrah, from Abū Mūsā. Some of the narrators made an error (wahima) in it. The correct version is what al-Aʿmash, Shuʿbah and others narrated from ʿAmr b. Murrah, from Abū ʿUbaydah b. ʿAbdillāh, from Abū Mūsā.
