✧ The first hadith of Abu Musa

وَأَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ؓ قَالَ:

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُقَاتِلُ شَجَاعَةً، وَالرَّجُلِ يُقَاتِلُ حَمِيَّةً، وَالرَّجُلِ يُقَاتِلُ رِيَاءً، فَأَيُّ ذَلِكَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: مَنْ قَاتَلَ لِتَكُونَ كَلِمَةُ اللهِ هِيَ الْعُلْيَا فَهُوَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a man who fights out of courage, a man who fights out of tribal pride, and a man who fights to show off. Which of these is in the path of Allah? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever fights so that the word of Allah is supreme is in the path of Allah."
