حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ:

" أَنَّ رَجُلًا مَاتَ، وَدَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: مَا كُنْتَ تَعْمَلُ ؟ قَالَ: فَإِمَّا ذَكَرُوا، إِمَّا ذُكِّرَ، قَالَ: إِنِّي كُنْتُ أُبَايِعُ النَّاسَ، فَكُنْتُ أُنْظِرُ الْمُعْسِرَ، وَأَتَجَوَّزُ فِي السِّكَّةِ أَوْ قَالَ: فِي النَّقْدِ، قَالَ: فَغُفِرَ لَهُ

Translation

✧ A man died and entered Paradise. It was said to him: 'What did you use to do?' He said—either they mentioned or he was reminded—he said: 'I used to sell to people on credit, and I would give respite to the one in difficulty and be lenient in the currency,' or he said: 'in the money.' He said: 'So he was forgiven.'
