قَالَ: وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ:
" إِنَّ رَجُلًا حَضَرَتْهُ الْوَفَاةُ أَوْ قَالَ: الْمَوْتُ فَقَالَ لِبَنِيهِ: إِذَا أَنَا مُتُّ فَاجْمَعُوا لِي حَطَبًا كَثِيرًا، فَأَوْقِدُوا فِيهِ نَارًا، وَأَلْقُونِي فِيهِ حَتَّى إِذَا أَكَلَتْ لَحْمِي، وَخَلَصَتْ إِلَى عَظْمِي، وَامْتَحَشَتْهُ فَخُذُوهَا يَعْنِي الْعِظَامَ فَاجْعَلُوهَا أَوْ قَالَ: فَاسْحَقُوهَا، ثُمَّ انْظُرُوا يَوْمًا رَاحًا فَذَرُوهُ فِي الْبَحْرِ، فَجَمَعَهُ اللهُ، فَقَالَ: لِمَ فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ: مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ، فَغَفَرَ اللهُ لَهُ
Translation

- And Samiʿtuh
✧ A man was close to death, or he said: death was present, so he said to his sons: 'When I die, gather a lot of firewood for me, light a fire in it, and throw me into it until it consumes my flesh and reaches my bones and scorches them. Then take them—meaning the bones—and make them, or he said: crush them; then look for a windy day and scatter them in the sea.' Allah gathered him and said: 'Why did you do that?' He said: 'Out of fear of You,' so Allah forgave him.
