Chain of narrators

- al-Muʿtamir b. Sulaymān
✧ My father informed us, from al-Hasan, from Jundub, from Hudhayfa, with something similar, but he did not raise it to the Prophet. We do not know this hadith to be narrated from the Messenger of God ﷺ except through Hudhayfa with this wording. Umar b. Habib al-Adawi, who attributed this hadith, was not a good memorizer, though his hadith was accepted. Al-Taymi was a man of sound texts, so it is possible that he raised it once and did not raise it another time.
