✧ We said to Ammar, “Tell us about your fighting: was it an opinion you held? For opinion can be wrong or right. Or was it a covenant that the Messenger of God ﷺ entrusted to you?” He said, “The Messenger of God ﷺ did not entrust us with anything he did not entrust to all people.” And he said, “The Messenger of God ﷺ said, 'In my community'—I think he said—'there are hypocrites.' I heard him, and I think he said it.”
