حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ: نَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ: نَا أَبِي، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ ذَكَرَ جَيْشَ الْأُمَرَاءِ قَالَ: " ثُمَّ أَخَذَ الرَّايَةَ جَعْفَرٌ فَأُصِيبَ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ فَأُصِيبَ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ فَأُصِيبَ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا سَيْفٌ مِنْ سُيُوفِ اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ

Translation

✧ That the Prophet ﷺ mentioned the army of the commanders and said: 'Then Ja'far took the banner and was martyred. Then Zayd b. Harithah took it and was martyred. Then Abdullah b. Rawahah took it and was martyred. Then a sword from the swords of Allah, Blessed and Exalted, Khalid b. al-Walid, took it.'
