✧ I entered upon Ibn Mas'ud while he was with Abu Musa, and Hudhayfah was with him. Hudhayfah said: 'O 'Abdullah b. Qays, you were sent to the people of Basrah as a commander and teacher, and they took from your manners and your recitation.' Ibn Mas'ud said: 'There is no verse of the Qur'an but I know when it was revealed and concerning what it was revealed. If I knew anyone more knowledgeable about the Book of Allah than me, whom camels could reach, I would travel to him.'
