✧ I marvel at the believer: he is rewarded in every matter. If good befalls him, he praises Allah and is rewarded; and if a calamity befalls him, he praises Allah and is rewarded. So he is rewarded in every matter, even the morsel he lifts to his wife's mouth.

machine translationWe do not know it to be narrated from Saʿd with a sound chain except by this route. It has also been narrated from Ṣuhayb and from Anas, from the Prophet ﷺ. We have mentioned this hadith from the narration of al-Aʿmash, from Abū Isḥāq, from Muṣʿab, from his father. The correct version is what Shuʿbah and al-Thawrī narrated from Abū Isḥāq, from al-ʿAyzār, from ʿUmar b. Saʿd, from his father.
