( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ، وَأَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْفَقِيهُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ: أَخْبَرَنِي، وَقَالَا: أَنْبَأَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ، ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْفَقِيهُ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الذُّهْلِيُّ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبٍ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ قَالُوا: ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ:
أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ مُحْرِمٍ وَقَعَ بِامْرَأَةٍ، فَأَشَارَ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، فَقَالَ: اذْهَبْ إِلَى ذَلِكَ فَسَلْهُ، قَالَ شُعَيْبٌ: فَلَمْ يَعْرِفْهُ الرَّجُلُ، فَذَهَبْتُ مَعَهُ، فَسَأَلَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، فَقَالَ: بَطَلَ حَجُّكَ، فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ: فَمَا أَصْنَعُ ؟ قَالَ: اخْرُجْ مَعَ النَّاسِ، وَاصْنَعْ مَا يَصْنَعُونَ، فَإِذَا أَدْرَكْتَ قَابِلًا فَحُجَّ وَأَهْدِ. فَرَجَعَ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، وَأَنَا مَعَهُ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ: اذْهَبْ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَسَلْهُ، قَالَ شُعَيْبٌ: فَذَهَبْتُ مَعَهُ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَسَأَلَهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ كَمَا قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ، فَرَجَعَ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، وَأَنَا مَعَهُ فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِمَا قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: مَا تَقُولُ أَنْتَ ؟ فَقَالَ: قَوْلِي مِثْلُ مَا قَالَا

جده الأدنى محمد ولم يدرك رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وجده الأعلى عمرو بن العاص ولم يدركه شعيب وجده الأوسط عبد الله وقد أدركه فإذا لم يسم جده احتمل أن يكون محمدا واحتمل أن يكون عمرا فيكون في الحالين مرسلا واحتمل أن يكون عبد الله الذي أدركه فلا يصح الحديث ويسلم من الإرسال إلا أن يقول عن جده عبد الله بن عمرو
