It is from the sunnah of the Hajj that the imam prays the Ẓuhr, the ʿAṣr, the Maghrib, the late ʿIshāʾ, and the Ṣubḥ at Minā. Then he sets out in the morning to ʿArafah and rests at midday wherever it is decreed for him. When the sun has passed its zenith he addresses the people, then prays the Ẓuhr and the ʿAṣr together. Then he stands at ʿArafāt until the sun sets. Then he moves on and prays at al-Muzdalifah, or wherever God, Mighty and Majestic, has decreed. Then he stands at Jamʿ, and when it becomes bright he departs before the sun rises. When he has stoned the greatest Jamrah, everything that was forbidden to him becomes lawful for him except women and perfume, until he visits the House.
