أَخْبَرَنَا ) مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الْفَقِيهُ، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ، ثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، ثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَنْبَأَ حُصَيْنٌ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ مُدْرِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ:

أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ لَبَّى حِينَ أَفَاضَ مِنْ جَمْعٍ فَقِيلَ: هَذَا أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: سَمِعْتُ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْهِ سُورَةُ الْبَقَرَةِ يَقُولُ فِي هَذَا الْمَكَانِ: لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ
