( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ: مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ قَادِمٍ، أَنْبَأَ عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ مَدِينِيٌّ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ:

خَرَجَ عُثْمَانُ ؓ حَاجًّا، وَابْتَنَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ بِامْرَأَتِهِ، فَبَاتَ عِنْدَهَا، ثُمَّ غَدَا إِلَى مَكَّةَ فَأَتَى النَّاسَ وَهُمْ بِمَلَلٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرُوحُوا قَالَ فَرَآهُ عُثْمَانُ ؓ وَعَلَيْهِ رَدْعُ الطِّيبِ وَمِلْحَفَةٌ مُعَصْفَرَةٌ مُفَدَّمَةٌ، فَانْتَهَرَهُ وَأَفَّفَ وَقَالَ: تَلْبَسُ الْمُعَصْفَرَ وَقَدْ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْهُ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ ؓ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمْ يَنْهَكَ وَلَا إِيَّاهُ إِنَّمَا عَنَانِي أَنَا، فَسَكَتَ عُثْمَانُ ؓ
