On the last day of Ramadan, in the time of the Prophet ﷺ, the people of Medina woke up fasting. Then a caravan arrived at the end of the day, and they testified before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that they had seen the new moon the previous day. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered the people to break their fast and to go out in the morning to their place of prayer.

machine translationThe companions of Shuʿbah contradicted him: they narrated it from Shuʿbah, from Abū Bishr, from Abū ʿUmayr b. Anas, from some of his paternal uncles, from the Prophet ﷺ. Abū ʿAwānah and Hushaym also narrated it in this way from Abū Bishr, and this is the correct version.
