al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Bayhaqi) 8132

✧ One who reaches the morning of the day of doubt without intending to fast, then learns that it is from the month of Ramadan, refrains for the rest of his day

وَقَدْ رُوِيَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ: أَنَّهُ أَمَرَ بِالْقَضَاءِ، وَذَلِكَ فِيمَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِي، أَنْبَأَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ، ثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ:

أَنَّ أَسْلَمَ أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ، فَقَالَ: صُمْتُمْ يَوْمَكُمْ هَذَا ؟ " قَالُوا: لَا، قَالَ: فَأَتِمُّوا بَقِيَّةَ يَوْمِكُمْ وَاقْضُوهُ
