أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، قَالَ ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَالَوَيْهِ، ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ شَبِيبٍ الْمَعْمَرِيُّ، ثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثَنَا هِقْلُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ
كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ قَالَ: " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا، وَشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبِنَا، وَصَغِيرِنَا وَكَبِيرِنَا، وَذَكَرِنَا وَأُنْثَانَا، اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ أَحْيَيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَأَحْيِهِ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ، وَمَنْ تَوَفَّيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَتَوَفَّهُ عَلَى الْإِيمَانِ

He said: The memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) do not mention Abū Hurayrah; they only say "Abū Salamah, from the Prophet ﷺ" as a mursal report. None connects it by mentioning Abū Hurayrah except one who is not precise (ghayr mutqin), and the sound view is that it is mursal.
