A funeral bier was placed in the cemetery of the people of Basra when the sun had turned yellow, and he did not pray over it until the sun had set. Then Abū Barzah ordered the caller, who called for the prayer, and then he pronounced the iqāmah. Abū Barzah stepped forward and led them in the Maghrib prayer. Among the people were Anas b. Mālik and Abū Barzah, from the Anṣār, of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ. Then they prayed over the funeral bier.
