A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of Allah, the livestock have perished and the roads of the people have been cut off (and in the narration of al-Shāfiʿī: and the roads have been cut off). So invoke Allah." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made supplication. He said: So it rained on us from one Friday to the next. Then a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of Allah, the houses have collapsed, the roads have been cut off, and the livestock have perished." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood and said: "O Allah, upon the tops of the mountains, and the hills, and the bellies of the valleys, and the places where trees grow." He said: So it cleared away from Medina as a garment is cast off.
