  • Yaḥyá b. Maʿīn

machine translationMuḍar b. Muḥammad narrated: I asked Yaḥyā b. Maʿīn about touching the private part, which report is most authentic on it. Yaḥyā b. Maʿīn said: Were it not for the ḥadīth of Mālik, from ʿAbdullāh b. Abī Bakr, from ʿUrwah, from Marwān, from Busrah, for he says in it, "I heard," I would have said that nothing is authentic.

  • Mubarakpūri

machine translationThe hadith of Busrah is more firmly established, stronger and more preponderant than the hadith of Ṭalq.

  • Mubarakpūri

machine translationThe preferred and relied-upon position is that the hadith of Busrah and the hadith of Ṭalq are both sound (ṣaḥīḥ), but her hadith is sounder, more established and more preponderant than his, as you learned earlier.

  • al-Bukhari

machine translationOf the hadiths on performing ablution after touching the private part, the soundest is the hadith of Busrah.

  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationEveryone who compiled a Ṣaḥīḥ mentioned the hadith of Busrah on this topic and the hadith of Ṭalq b. ʿAlī, except al-Bukhārī, for in his view the two conflict and are defective (maʿlūl), while in the view of others both are sound (ṣaḥīḥ). And Allah is the one whose help is sought.
