I spent the night one night at the house of my maternal aunt Maymūnah. When it was part of the night, the Prophet ﷺ got up and performed ablution from a hanging water-skin, a light ablution – ʿAmr made it light and described it as very little – then he stood to pray. So I got up and performed ablution like what he had performed, then I stood on his left, and he turned me around and placed me on his right. Then he prayed as much as God willed, then he lay down and slept until he breathed heavily. Then the caller came to him and informed him that it was time for the prayer.
