The Prophet ﷺ passed by a dead sheep belonging to a freed slave woman of Maymūnah, and he said: "Why did they not take its hide, tan it, and benefit from it?" They said: "O Messenger of God, it is carrion." He said: "Only eating it has been made unlawful."
