Ḥudhayfah asked for something to drink, and a village chieftain (dihqān) brought him a silver vessel. He took it and threw it away, and said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us to drink from vessels of gold and silver, and to eat from them, and forbade us to wear silk and brocade (dībāj), and to sit on it."
