What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Ibn al-Qaṭṭān

machine translationI do not know anyone who compiled works on the narrators who mentioned him, and his condition is unknown (majhūl), meaning Umayyah. So the hadith is therefore weak (ḍaʿīf).

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationThe authentic (ṣaḥīḥ) version is from al-Taymī, from a man, from Abū Mijlaz, from Ibn ʿUmar.

  • al-Dhahabi

machine translationIt is not known who this is, meaning Umayyah, and I do not know of any narrator from him other than Sulaymān al-Taymī. Abū Dāwūd alone recorded a narration from him.
