When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood for the obligatory prayer, he would say the takbīr and raise his hands level with his shoulders. He would do the same when he finished his recitation and wanted to bow, and when he raised his head from bowing he would do likewise. He would not raise his hands at any point in his prayer while sitting. And when he stood up after the two prostrations, he would say the takbīr and raise his hands in the same way.
