Mālik b. al-Ḥuwayrith used to come to us in this mosque of ours to lead us in prayer. He would say: "I am going to pray with you, and I do not intend the prayer itself, but I want to show you how I saw the Prophet ﷺ pray." Ayyūb said: I said to Abū Qilābah: "How was it" - meaning his prayer - ? He said: "Like the prayer of this elder of ours" - meaning ʿAmr b. Salimah. Ayyūb said: That elder used to complete the takbīr, and when he raised his head from the second prostration, he would sit, then rest his weight on the ground.
