( وَأَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو حَازِمٍ، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو الْفَضْلِ، أَنْبَأَ أَحْمَدُ، ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ قَالَ:
شَهِدْتُ شُرَيْحًا وَاخْتَصَمَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلَانِ ادَّعَى أَحَدُهُمَا قِبَلَ الْآخَرِ دَابَّةً وَأَنَّهُ يَزْعُمُ أَنَّهَا دَابَّتُهُ أَنْتَجَهَا فَسَأَلَهُ شُرَيْحٌ الْبَيِّنَةَ فَجَاءَهُ بِثَمَانِيَةِ رَهْطٍ فَشَهِدُوا لَهُ فَقَالَ الَّذِي فِي يَدِهِ الدَّابَّةُ اسْتَحْلِفْهُ فَقَالَ: " احْلِفْ ". فَقَالَ لَهُ: أَثْبَتُّ عِنْدَكَ بِثَمَانِيَةٍ مِنَ الشُّهُودِ فَقَالَ شُرَيْحٌ: لَوْ أَثْبَتَّ عِنْدِي كَذَا وَكَذَا شَاهِدًا مَا قَضَيْتُ لَكَ حَتَّى تَحْلِفَ
