أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ، أَنْبَأَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَ مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ مَطَرٍ الْوَرَّاقِ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ:

صَحِبْتُ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ مِنَ الْبَصْرَةِ إِلَى مَكَّةَ وَكَانَ يُنْشِدُنِي كُلَّ يَوْمٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي: إِنَّ الشِّعْرَ كَلَامٌ، وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْكَلَامِ حَقًّا، وَبَاطِلًا
